Module 07: Building an online presence
In today’s age having an online presence has become increasingly beneficial and a great tool to help launch your career.
Whether it is showcasing your site skills and projects through reels on Instagram or Tik Tok, or building a professional network on LinkedIn, Tradeswomen all over the world are using social media as a tool as a platform to stand out.

Employers are increasingly using innovative ways through social media to attract new talent, so stand out by joining the party.
We’ve even seen people linking their work Instagram or LinkedIn profile to the resumes to add a little extra spark to make them unforgettable to recruiters.
And sometimes it can feel like it’s who you know, not what you know, and business cards are becoming a thing of the past! Where you might meet someone in passing now and grab a business card to stay in touch for that job that may pop up in the next couple of months, we all know they end up in the middle console of our cars or crumbled in our pockets after cycle in the washing machine. Avoid losing out on that opportunity by building a professional online presence and never lose that persons contact details.
Showcase you, your work, what you love about it and where you want to go and connect with those that will help you get there along the way! You never know what might pop up or the likeminded people you might meet online.
Have you heard of LinkedIn?
LinkedIn is Instagram’s professional cousin, a platform to build connections with business, colleagues, show off your work and achievements and explore career opportunities.
