Did you know it’s never too early to find out your post-school options?

Focussing on a different industry every quarter, our pilot Step Into series under the Women Trading Up initiative is all about helping you explore the endless possibilities through vocational education and training, apprenticeships and traineeship pathways.

Join us today as we take you to meet with apprentices, trainees and their employers in various industries who will talk us through their hands-on experience over informal events, casual discussions and idea sharing.

With our first event to be held on March 14, we invite you to stay connected and join us at our next event.

This year, we are stepping into:

Manufacturing

manufacturing apprenticeships and traineeships

Manufacturing is a large employing industry, which involves transforming materials, substances or components into new products.

Career opportunities: industrial electricians, industrial mechanics, welder/ fabricators and technology trades

Construction

Construction apprenticeships and traineeships

Construction covers various jobs in areas such as planning, engineering, architecture and trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing– for both commercial and residential projects.

Career opportunities: Carpenters, civil engineers, plumbers and bricklayers

Automotive

Automotive apprenticeships and traineeships

The automotive industry covers areas including vehicle body building, mechanical technology, electrical technology, heavy plant and outdoor power equipment.

Career opportunities: Automotive mechanic, automotive electrician, motor vehicle parts technician and marine mechanic

Resources

Apprenticeship and Traineeship pathways in the WA resources sector

Our resources sector is one of Australia’s strongest economic performers. The industry generates more than half of Australia’s export goods and provides significant economic opportunities.

Career opportunities: Pipefitter, electrician, crane operators and excavators
