Australian Apprentice Training Support Payment
Up to $5,000

The Australian Apprentice Training Support Payment is available to eligible apprentices undertaking a Certificate III or higher qualification in priority occupations listed on the Australian Apprenticeship Priority List.

Full-time: $1,750 paid at six and twelve months; and $750 paid at 18 and 24 months (up to $5,000 in total).
Part-time: $875 paid at six and twelve months; and $375 paid at 18 and 24 months (up to $2,500 in total).

Note: A period of suspension or cancellation may affect the claim period.

PRIORITY LIST

New Energy Apprenticeships Program
Up to $10,000

Australian Apprentices that are working in the Clean Energy Sector, training towards a clean energy occupation on the Priority List, can access up to $10,000 in support payments

Full-time: $2,000 at six, 12, 24 and 36 months and completion of their qualification.

Part-time: $1,000 at same intervals as full-time apprentices.

Note: both the employer and apprentice must complete a signed declaration, confirming the apprentice will undertake work and build their skills in the clean energy sector.

Eligible occupations are identified as a subset on the Australian Apprenticeship Priority List.

PRIORITY LIST

Australian Apprenticeship Support Loans Scheme

Eligible apprentices and trainees have access to loans up to a $25,643 interest free (annually indexed), over a four year apprenticeship, to assist with the costs of completing an apprenticeship or traineeship.

Repayments of the loan are made through the tax system and start when you are earning a sustainable income. The compulsory repayment threshold for the 2024-25 income year is $54,435.

A 20% discount applies to the loan on successful completion of your apprenticeship or traineeship.

Travel and Accommodation Allowance (TAA)

Financial assistance to apprentices who are required to travel long-distance to attend off-the-job training. The TAA is a financial contribution to assist with apprentices’ travel and accommodation expenses.

The Apprenticeship Data Management System (ADMS) assists apprentices to apply for loans or allowances and complete their own claim applications to receive payments under the incentive system.
